QuidsIn4U was launched on 24th January 2012 with 2 simple aims:
- To save you the consumer money.
- To raise funds for local educational projects.
Short term we aim to establish ourselves in the UK as a common sense shopping site for consumers. Ultimately, we want to be a UK leading retail brokerage service to business, education and general consumers.
First Educational Project
On the 29th March 2011, the Government announced that from 1st April 2011 they would be withdrawing the Young Peoples Learning Agency funding which subsidises the cost of work experience to the schools. This action has hit education hard. Schools and colleges are being more discerning about how they spend their discretionary income.
Many schools and colleges are limiting the number of young people who will benefit from a work experience placement. The outcome of this is that many young people will not gain the basic skills and experience of working life, or have the opportunity to investigate a career or sector which they are interested in. In our eyes this can only widen the employability skills gap that currently exists when young people embark into the working world. For more information visit the IEBE website here.
The purpose of QuidsIn4U is to help bridge the gap created by recent government actions and support work related learning amongst other projects in our local area. We would love to be the main sponsor of Work Experience in our region and with your help, maybe we can.
To support work experience for pre-16's for a year we would need to raise a half a million!
